On behalf of all the Tutors I would like to thank all the students who attended last weekend’s residential course at Plas Menai.
Their conduct was exemplary, not only did the staff at Plas Menai comment on what a wonderfully polite group they were, but a member of the general public took time out to come and comment on how well behaved they all were.
From the pictures, you can see that everyone had fun participating in the various activities (on land and sea). The instructors were superb and ensured that everyone came away with a very positive experience.
All the fresh air generated healthy appetites and everyone did full justice to the excellent food that was served!
Somehow, time was also found for some enjoyable music making. The staff had planned repertoire carefully so that in addition to performing together as one ensemble, players were divided into different groups with a deliberate emphasis on playing different styles of music to what they were used to. The ensembles included a Mixed String group (including a Guitar and Ukelele), French Horn Octet, Wind Trios and Quartets, String Orchestra and an 18 piece Big Band.
Finally, an event like this requires months of planning and it could not have happened without the help and support of ‘POPS’who give freely of their time and expertise so I would also like to take this opportunity to extend our grateful thanks to them.
